Broström: " Dunya Grow Further"
(01 June 2006)

Brostrom, the Swedish product tanker company, is moving full ahead with its fleet expansion, with two new ships recently joining its fleet. The third in a series of four 14,500-dwt D-class vessels has been named Bro Distributor and delivered from the Jingling shipyard in China. The fourth and last D-class vessel is expected to be delivered in December this year. Meanwhile, Dünya Shipping, the Turkish operator with whom Brostrom is in strategic alliance, has taken delivery of Gan Venture, the first in a series of three 47,000-dwt vessels from Hyundai Mipo in South Korea. Dunya also has five 51,000-dwt newbuildings due from STX in South Korea, which will also be operated by Brostrom. When all eight ships are in service in 15 months time, Brostrom's fleet trading in Asia will have doubled.
